A
Member of the Fellowship of
Humanity is necessarily a Friend of the Fellowship and all its other Friends.
And Friends of the Fellowship are in process of building a Humanist community,
that is, in process of creating a nurturing, supportive, stable, just, generous,
non-competitive, compassionate, ecological, simple, conscious, Humanist Church. Please consider joining us to help us build both sustainability and excitement
into our fledgling Humanist Church that expects to live
with
the earth. The future belongs to people whose community spirit incorporates
both sustainable and exciting ideas and actions.
As a Friend of the Fellowship:
you are, generally speaking, a Humanist;
you approve of, support, and endeavor to act on the Mission and Purposes of our
Fellowship of Humanity as presented in our Living ByLaws (see our website under the link “Purposes”);
you are in general agreement with the premises of Humanism as stated in the AHA’s
Humanist Manifesto III (also presented on our website under the link
“Purposes”), and act on them;
you are politically progressive and eschew colonialism, corporate capitalism,
and global domination while you espouse local resourcefulness, cooperative
economics, and bioregional diversity;
you are
personally ethical and eager to help build a conscious community based on generosity, cooperative economics, and ideals of communitarianism while at the
same time extending yourself to eradicate deceit, meanness, carelessness,
competition, and beliefs in domination;
you are happy to be a person of high character and spiritual in your outlook;
you respect our Fellowship of Humanity, our Board of Directors, our Friends, our
event communities, and our building and grounds and want to see all of these
thrive.
As a Friend of the Fellowship of
Humanity you would covenant to be in a reciprocal relationship with our
Fellowship’s community of Friends:
you would contribute to our Fellowship in the ways that you can, and our
Fellowship would give you every benefit it has to offer;
your presence would inspire our Fellowship,
and
our Fellowship would open up opportunities for you;
your teaching would enlighten our Fellowship,
and
our Fellowship would gain in reputation and resources which would redound to you;
your example would move our Fellowship into action,
and
our Fellowship would do meritorious works which would reflect on you;
you would support our Fellowship however you can,
and
our Fellowship would come together in support of you.
